Corporate Cup in 2020
The 40th Year of the Corporate Cup is set to go ahead with some changes that make the event safer for all participants and staff. We have implemented new sanitisation procedures as well as adjusting elements of the event to adhere to social distancing rules.
We are continuing to work closely with all relevant authorities and are strictly following the guidance provided by the Australian Government Department of Health and SA Health.
You must stay home if you:
· Have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days
· Have been overseas or exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days
· Have flu-like symptoms
The Corporate Cup will be doing everything to keep all participants and staff safe. This means sanitising anything that is sent out to participants and regularly disinfecting all surfaces at the event. All staff will be regularly washing their hands and will be practicing social distancing.
For all participants we recommend:
· Washing / sterilising your hands before and after you do your run
· Cough or sneeze into your elbow not your hands
· Avoid touching your face
· Keep a 1.5m distance away from other participants and staff
· Avoid touching any surfaces
· 1 timing card per person
To protect participants and staff we will be practicing social distancing by limiting the number of people that are able to congregate on site. We are doing this by offering participants the option to use one of our newly introduced Mobile Start Points. These Start Points allow participants to do their run from an alternative point on the course without having to use a timing card, allowing them to keep their distance from other people.
We have also introduced a new more flexible KM Tracker category allowing participants to complete their walk/run in any location that they choose.
Furthermore, the Corporate Cup will have additional infrastructure in place to ensure social distancing rules are adhered to.
The Corporate Cup is a unique event in that there is no direct contact required and participants have all day to complete their run. This year the Corporate Cup has introduced the ability to use a GPS running device or app to record times. Participants may track their run on their phone from one of the regular Corporate Cup locations, from one of our new Mobile Start Points or from anywhere in South Australia if they are in the new KM Tracker category . This provides participants with the flexibility to run wherever and whenever they like without having to make contact with anyone else.
The Corporate Cup have made the decision to adjust some elements of the event including the baggage area, keys box and quench bench. This is to ensure that we can maintain a contact-less event.
In the lead up to the event, we will be providing as much access to information as possible on how we are making the event safe for everyone. We will be making sure that all participants understand the changes we have made to ensure the health and safety of all involved. This means information on our website to be updated, regular newsletters to be sent out to all participants along with information uploaded to our social media pages. Additionally, there will be some extra informational signage at the event.
