The Site

The start and finish line is located at Karrawirra Park, Victoria Drive (next to Lounders Boatshed Café) – same location as last year.

While onsite please ensure that you:

  • Have your timing card ready to go (if you forget your card, we will have temporary ones available from the caravan, but these must be returned after your participation on the day).
  • Know what distance you have been registered into and check the course maps before you hit the start line. The River will always be on your left and we do have signage around the course.
  • Make sure your card scans at the start and finish lines. At the start, your name will show on the tablet. At the finish line, you will hear a beep. Your card cannot be in your phone case when starting/finishing.
  • Once you have completed your walk/run, head up to the caravan to check your time has recorded correctly on the screen – if required, we are able to amend times whilst you are still onsite but cannot once the timing system is packed up. It is your responsibility to ensure your time has been recorded.
  • Grab a drink and cool down before making your way off site – free juice is available thanks to Nippy’s and free water is available thanks to the SA Water Quench Bench.

Know your distance before you start

Please ensure you know your distance, and that your team captain has entered your distance correctly before the first day. To check your distance, simply log into the Corporate Cup portal and your distance will be listed on the dashboard under ‘My 2024 team’. To log in, you do not need to create an account as it is automatically created when you are registered into a team – however, you must use the email address your team captain registered you with.

If this needs changing, email hello@thecorporatecup.com.au your team number, name and preferred distance as we can change it for you. Doing this before Round 1 will ensure your points and leader board position are calculated correctly.

If you have any questions on the day, please see one of our friendly staff members who will assist you onsite. Have a great Corporate Cup.

Timing Your Walk/Run

Timing cards were included in your team bags; please ensure you have your timing card ready for Round 1. If you already have collected your timing card, you can go straight to the start line:

  • Head to the start line via the orange cones
  • Hold your card up to the ‘scan here’ sign on the reader (orange box)
  • When it’s been read, your name will come up on the tablet
  • Begin your walk/run

Please do not:

  • Scan multiple cards
  • Scan your card at the same time as someone else
  • Scan anybody else’s card

To finish, scan your card at the finish line (black box), you will hear a beep, then head up to the caravan to check your time on the display screen. We can amend times on the day at the caravan, but not after the event. It is your responsibility to ensure your time has been recorded.

Lost your timing card?

If you have lost your card, you can purchase a new card for $5. Please talk to staff onsite or email hello@thecorporatecup.com.au to order a new one. If you do not have your card, a temporary card can be issued for use on the day, but it must be returned after your walk/run as they reset after each round.

Site Times

You can complete your walk/run anytime between 6am to 6pm. Please be aware that for the next month, before 7am and after 5.30pm will be dark. We are open from 6am, but please take care – sunrise is at 7.09am so for safety, we recommend running with someone or wearing a light if you are participating early/late.

Please note 6pm is the last time you can start, but please ensure you finish by 6.30pm.

The Corporate Cup goes ahead in rain, hail or sunshine, however, in the unlikely event of an electrical storm, the round will be cancelled, or the time you can come onsite to do your run will be shortened (depends on the forecast). Please dress to the conditions on the day and ensure you have a drink of water or juice when you finish. We will communicate any changes via email and social media, so be sure to like our Facebook page.

Parking

The Torrens Parade Ground is available for free parking during the following times:

* 7.45am – 9.45am

* 11.45am – 1.45pm and

* 4pm – 6pm

Please show your timing card or Corporate Cup t-shirt to our marshal at the gate, and carefully follow parking instructions. Your car must be removed no later than 30 minutes from the session closing time (i.e. 10.15am, 2.15pm or 6.30pm).

There is additional parking on Victoria Drive all day, but please ensure you adhere to the parking fees and time restrictions as parking inspectors frequent the area. Parking is free on Victoria Drive until 8am and then it is ticketed.

FAQs

What refreshments will you have available?
The SA Water Quench Bench (water) and Nippy’s Juice are back onsite for another year.

Where can I put my belongings while I walk/run?
We will have a bag storage marquee onsite, where you can leave your items at your own risk. For keys, there will be a box at the caravan, but again you leave your items at your own risk. We encourage you to leave your belongings in your car/at work where possible.

What if I injure myself?
First aid will be available at the start/finish site – in the drinks marquee during peak times, or from the caravan. Please walk/run to the conditions (i.e. slower if raining) and at your own pace – take Round 1 easy if you haven’t been doing much physical activity. Our number (8363 5700) is listed on your timing card which you can call in an emergency i.e. you have injured yourself on the course and cannot make it back to the start/finish line. Please take care at all times.

What if I cannot make it onsite?
Although you cannot make up a time, you won’t affect your team’s time/points if there are more than 5 participants in the team. Please do not run with someone else’s card as this will not reflect their true time and does not help them in future runs.

How are points tallied? How does a team win?
