Virtual Event – How to Time

Participants will need to use a GPS tracking app to record the walk/run and then upload a screenshot to their Corporate Cup profile. The ‘Upload’ button will appear on your dashboard once the event begins on Thursday, and you can only upload on the Thursday or Friday of each round.

You do not need to pay for a device or app, you can use Samsung/Apple Health on your phone, Fitbit, Garmin, smartwatch, or Strava or Map My Run which are 2 free apps – anything that shows where you ran/walked, distance, date and time.

Course Map

The Semaphore course runs along the foreshore so you do not need to cross any roads. You can start either end of the course:
– Near Coppin St public toilet or
Dory Park Place
There is ample parking available at both ends.

There is signage along the course showing start/finish and turn around points – look out for the below signs. The 2.25km turn around sign is along the foreshore in line with Kanowna Rd.

Know Your Distance Before You Start

Please ensure you know your distance, and that your team captain has entered your distance correctly, before the first day. To check your distance, simply log into the Corporate Cup portal and your distance will be listed on the dashboard under ‘My 2024 team’. To log in, you do not need to create an account as it is automatically created when you are registered into a team – however, you must use the email address your team captain registered you with.

If this needs changing, email hello@thecorporatecup.com.au your team number, name and preferred distance as we can change it for you. Doing this before Round 1 will ensure your points and leader board position are calculated correctly.

Times and Dates

As this is a virtual event, staff will NOT be onsite so you can do your run or walk anytime of the day, as long as it is on the round dates:
Round 1 – August 15
Round 2 – August 29
Round 3 – September 12
Round 4 – September 26 (Pop up 11.30am-1.30pm)
Round 5 – October 10
Round 6 – October 24
Round 7 – November 7

The Corporate Cup goes ahead in rain, hail or sunshine. Please dress to the conditions on the day, and we recommend taking the pocket first aid kit you received in your team bag with you. We will communicate any changes via email and social media, so be sure to like our Facebook page.

In round 4, we will meet you onsite and provide some encouragement, fruit and Nippy’s juice over a few hours – stay tuned for more information.

Corporate Cup Portal

The Corporate Cup portal is your one stop shop for uploading times, leader boards and achievement tracking.

Head to the Corporate Cup portal and make sure you are able to log in prior to Round 1. If you cannot remember your password from last year, or haven’t set one yet, click ‘login’ then ‘trouble signing in’ to reset your password – as it is an automatic email, it may pop up in your junk/spam folder. Some work emails do mark us as spam, so call or email us if you can’t find the email after 1 hour.

FAQs

What if I injure myself?
Pocket first aid kits were included in your team bag, thanks to Care 24-7. Please walk/run to the conditions (i.e. slower if raining) and at your own pace – take Round 1 easy if you haven’t been doing much physical activity. Please take care at all times.

What if I cannot make it on the day?
Although you cannot make up a time, you won’t affect your team’s time/points if there are more than 5 participants in the team.

How are points tallied?
